Frequently asked questions about mod.

Q: Thing X is not working!
A: Launch the game with mod, if mod logo is there and YOU ARE NOT USING OTHER MODS it will work for 101%. If not, look question below.

Q: Cant launch the mod!
A: Try our troubleshooting guide!

Q: Does this mod work with Mortal Empires?
A: SFO is a whole game overhaul and Mortal Empires is NOT separate part of it, so yes. SFO will work with Mortal Empires and the whole Warhammer 2 game.

Q: What does this mod change?
A: It's a whole game overhaul. You can find the changelog HERE and list of changes HERE or on the mod main page.

Q: Does this change TW: WH 1 factions and units?
A: Yes, in same manner as TW: WH 2 factions and units.

Q: What difficulty should I choose?
A: SFO is a harder game than vanilla so you can play 1 level below your vanilla level. You can also use "Easy Submod" that lowers upkeep, that is in the Submods Collection on the main page.

Q: Is this mod updated to the latest dlc?
A: Yes and always will be.

Q: What do I need to launch the mod?
A: One hand and a legal copy of Total War: Warhammer 2.

Q: How can I disable the new units?
A: Get the submod from HERE or Submods Collection on the mod main page.

Q: Unit X got 100k health. This mod is broken!
A: You use incompatible mods that change the units stats. Check game only with SFO before posting.

Q: SFO 1 had tier 4 minor settlements. Why is it not here?
A: WH 2 added more slots to province major settlements and therfore tier 4 minor settlements are not needed anymore. You can still use this mod with SFO II without problems.

Q: Can I launch mod on a vanilla save?
A: No, SFO requires a new game launch.

Q: Why do walls and garrisons lower taxes?
A:   

  1. They have elite units

  2. Give Public Order

  3. Have much better towers

  4. Adds recruitment options for basic units

  5. Walls are not needed every time because all buildings give small garrisons and main settlements garrisons are much better.


Q: My game crashes when I try to save a battle replay.
A: It's game bug that happens with every mod in Warhammer 2. Only CA can fix it. Your replays are saved, but the game crashes.

Q: Faction X start with negative income!
A: Faction X have elite units (very strong in SFO) from start and that's why it has some penalties for it. Von Cartsein also start with only one minor settlement, so that's the case also - can't be changed without making mod incompatible with many other.

Q: I get 2 skill points per level for lords!
A: Lords get 2 skill points for first 4 levels, heroes 2 points. Then they get 1 point per level normally. That change is to make new lords useful from first levels. Lords get overall 4 extra points, heroes 4 because in SFO all Lords have many new skills.

Q: My lords and heroes dont get any experience!
A: You have massive mod conflict. It means that your game scripts just broke. Your game cant be saved at this point.

Q: I dont see whole tech tree.
A: Settings -> UI resize/scale.

Q: Why I have chaos corruption at my Empire province?
A: Each faction in SFO have Public Order effects different depending on PO level. You can see those on bottom left in province panel. Public Order icon. Mod Summary have all factions effects.

Q: Playing as Arkhan I get negative public order form vampiric corruption!
A: You are getting same positive and same negative value. Its how CA designed it.

Q: Is there localization for X language?
A: SFO is made in English. You can play in your language but all new things will be in English. There are some fan-made translations but we are not going to make any other language versions. We are small team and dont have resources for such things.

Q: Faction X Autoresolve is broken!
A: Of course it is and no mod can change it. Mods can't change autoresolve values for specific units or factions.

Q: My character level is 102 after battle and when he hits level 40.
A: Its only visual bug, can't be fixed.

Q: I dont see new SFO buildings!
A: You are using unlocker/landmark mods, those mods are changing settlements slots and require submods to work properly.

Q: Do this mod work in coop?
A: Yes, but not fully. We dont have the tools to make it fully working or having all features.
